Christian Hits That Lift My Spirit: Building an Uplifting Playlist

I’ll admit – I used to be very closed-minded when it came to Christian music. As a new believer, I assumed it was all heavy hymns or cheesy gospel songs. But over time, my tastes expanded as I discovered the beauty and diversity of faith-based melodies.

There’s incredible power in surrounding yourself with uplifting sounds that align with your values. As I curate my Spotify playlists, I gravitate towards songs that can instantly transport me back to cherished moments or lift my mood when life gets stressful.

I remember the time when Hillsong Worship toured Hong Kong back in 2015. I was MIND-BLOWN. It was so good! My heart kept racing even when I was home and I needed to look up their music on repeat. “I Surrender” teared me up with its spiralling tunes.

Meaningful lyrics are vital. As a pastor talked in a sermon,

If I had to pick my top five songs in regular rotation right now, they would be:

  1. “God Is Good” by Jonathan McReynolds

  2. “Grateful For” by Natalie Layne

  3. “Air I Breathe” by Sondae and Isabelle Brown

  4. “Old Church Basement” by Elevation Worship and Maverick City, feat. Dante Bowe

  5. “Evergreen” by Renew Worship (from an English Speaking Church in Hong Kong, Island ECC!)

The world can be loud and chaotic. But surrounding myself with praises to Christ grounds me, inspires me, and reminds me of what matters most. These songs bring richness and peace to my life. My prayer is that they bless you as well. What Christian tunes move your soul? Share in the comments below!
